Top Tips for a Happy Life #16

Hi everyone! I was really inspired this week to do a piece inspired my one of my favourite books; Frankenstein. I also wanted to dip my toes back into digital artwork and now seemed like a good time!

As much as the content of these 'Top Tips' does vary from week to week, I do like to try and ensure that there actually is a useful tip in amidst the doodling. This quote from Frankenstein, "Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful" is actually a quote that I find pretty empowering.

It comes from the creature as a threat to Frankenstein when he is refused a bride, but I think it has a place everyday life too. I'm about to take my fifth driving test next week after four disastrous failures. Each time I've failed my test it's not been because I'm inherently a bad driver, but because I freak myself out thinking that I might fail again, get myself in a panic and then can't concentrate and make silly mistakes (like, erm, trying to reverse into a space that already has a car in it? Twice). This time around, I don't know what will happen. It would mean a lot to me to pass, but at the same time I'm just trying to focus on letting go. This time, my goal is to go into the test feeling fearless. Fearless and powerful.

If all else fails, I can just chase the test invigilator across the Arctic for all eternity, an abomination unable to break free of the shackles of society, tormented until the day I die (hopefully I will just pass though).

Until next time,
