Arundel Castle

Hi everyone! I have another little travel post for you on this fine monday. As you may remember, the other week I went to visit the boating lake in Arundel. While I was there I figured I might as well visit the castle too!

I didn't actually take quite so many photos at the castle site-- partly because there were no photos allowed inside the castle walls but also because we were both cold and knackered after our boating trauma (see previous). That being said, the grounds were very beautiful and so it seemed right to take a few photos to hold onto.

I think that the gardens and walkways had a bit of an Alice in Wonderland vibe from above-- maybe it's the winding hedgerows? I'm not sure. Just a bit spooky and wibbly I suppose.

Of course, I couldn't visit a castle without a Handsome Prince (sorry, I am sickening).

As well as the main pathways and things, there were also sweet little walled gardens with fountains and greenhouses. everything was very fragrant and pretty and well worth a wander through :)

I'm sure I've mentioned on here before but I used to work as a gardener and it so it was impressive looking at these amazing gardens and thinking how much work must go into maintaining them. Everything was pretty and trim and not a weed in sight. Is it wrong I was equally impressed with the weeding as I was with the iron clad stonework? Who cares. It was all fab.

I hope you all had a good Easter break and got up to something fun. I'll speak to you soon :)
