Big blue eyes, Pointy nose

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a good day. I spent the day in Rye and had a marvellous time, so am feeling all nice and cosy at home this evening after being out by the sea. This week's Midweek Mammal was a conscious decision to paint something Autumn-y as I felt the urge in my bones.

I actually used to have a profound fear of foxes when I was younger-- I think it's because I would only ever see them at night when I was walking home alone in the dark and at that time anything walking past is spooky. I faced my fear head on, as you do, by deciding to devote my A-Level Art project to an endangered fox preservation campaign. There was a period when I'd get sweaty palms whenever I had to look on google images but I managed to get past it. Miracles happen everyday people! Would I recommend obsessively googling your phobia to help overcome it? Maybe not, but Batman did something similar and it worked for him so maybe it's the way forward.

I will say that I still find panthers incredibly creepy. I can't google those either. Those eyes! Scary. Get me away.

Until next time folks!
Steph

  1. You have to do something every day that scares you! So good on ya, girl! And you are so so so unbelievably talented, Steph. I've been having a little nose around your site and I can't believe how original and beautiful your paintings are. I'm in love!

  2. Ain't that the truth! I'd much rather deal with things head on. Thank you so much for this lovely comment! I'm so happy you like them and I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to tell me so! Xx
