WEARING/ COME UNDONE

Skirt: H&M / Shoes: Topshop Notion Sandals / Cami: New Look

Hello everyone! I'm back, and just in time for a monstrous heatwave. You would think I could cope with the heat after a week in Egypt, but honestly it's not quite the same being in the sun without a lazy river and stream of cold pepsi. First world problems all round.

This morning I decided to keep it easy breezy in a skirt and loose cami top. I snapped a few pictures and then not a moment later the zip of the skirt snapped off. Sadly, this means it has now been retired and I'm once more without an asymmetric croc print skirt-- how am I supposed to go on? H&M, you've let me down.

Here's hoping the clothes drama doesn't last much longer, I'm far too precious with my clothes to bear another snag. I only like my clothes purposefully ripped.

Until next time,

Steph

WEARING / STRIPE OUT

Topshop Jamie Jeans / Forever 21 Top / Desert Boots

Morning all!
This is just another lazy outfit from when I went to see Walking on Sunshine. Great/rubbish film, perfect for summer. Sorry for the sparse posts recently, I've been strapped for time. I'll be back to usual soon :)

Until next time,
Steph

WEARING / RAINY DAY

Skirt: H&M / Shoes: Simmi Shoes / Jumper: F+F

Hi everyone!

On sunday I went for a long-awaited reunion with some of my friends from college. We were originally having a picnic but the weather rained it off so we went for coffee instead. Ironically the weather cleared up by the end of the day but I think we had a good time nonetheless :)

Despite it being the middle of July, it was cold in the morning so I went for a cropped jumper to keep me warm. However, knowing how naff and changeable the English weather is, I semi-prepared for a hot spell by wearing a skirt without tights.

Shoes are some patent brogues that I love, but in the end I wanted to wear socks so I switched for some desert boots. The weather wasn't the only thing that was changeable apparently...

Until next time!

WEARING / IN COGNITO

Hey everyone!

I hope there are some good mondays lined up for people.

Today I'm wearing one of my favourite summer outfits from Monki. It's actually a two piece and I literally have worn this nearly to death since buying it. It's the perfect 'dress' to style up or down, and today I've gone for more of a laid back look with my H&M sliders.

Rather than a slit up the side it is more of a sarong-style crossover tucked into a waistband, so for modesty's sake I have had to sew a join in the front after a few too many holiday makers got to see my bikini bottoms way outside of the pool. I learned my lesson that night, I'll tell you now.

If I was going anywhere fancier, I might have styled this with some big gold earrings, but for getting on with things this fit the bill pretty nicely.

Until next time,
Steph

WEARING / WHITE NIGHTS FOR ME

Topshop Romper / H&M Heels / H&M Necklace

Hi everyone!

Today's post isn't strictly an OOTD, but it's an OOTN that never was. This was originally supposed to be my summer ball outfit, but it got rained off. I had planned to wear this months in advance (you can check the blog archive for evidence) but when it came to the big day the weather was so choppy and naff that I opted for something a bit warmer.

I then brought it on holiday with me with the intention of wearing it both in Venice and Egypt, but neither place wound up being fancy enough to merit a romper and heels. Such is life, there's birthdays coming up so I'm sure this outfit will eventually get its chance in the sun. One day! Until then, I'm  posting it on my blog to prove that it still exists. It was getting a bit too familiar with the back wall of my wardrobe... Where clothes go and never return.

Bye for now!
Steph

WEARING / ARUBA, JAMAICA

Topshop Skirt / Topshop Shoes / Topshop Top

Happy Saturday everybody! I recently bought this skirt for my holiday in Egypt and I actually think I did wear this while I was out there. Oops, outfit repeating. Forgive me for my sins.

The skirt is a Topshop jobby (as is the whole outfit, please add Label Love to my list of sins). the double slit means that it's easy breezy for when it's hot outside but also gives a wide enough range of motion for whatever it is your doing. I've had midi skirts before where I couldn't move my knees which, let's be honest, is not ideal.

The crop top is one of my favourite summer items, I wore the white one to my summer ball and they're honestly so versatile. I think this black one would also look nice under a sheer black blouse or meshy top or something as a layering piece.

Shoes are my Notions again, to be honest I love them because the ankle strap means I'm not shuffling around like an old man in slippers like I am when I wear my sliders. As you can tell, I'm all about ease of motion. It must be all the jogging I do (not).

Until later,
Steph

WEARING / TEXTURE CLASH

H&M Skirt / Zara Top / Topshop Notion Sandals

Hello everybody! Here's a little OOTD. Today I'm channeling secretary vibes as I was just getting on with bits and bobs.

I've been looking for a new leather skirt for yonks after my last one had to be demoted to the 'going Out-out' pile after riding up to an indecent length in public one too many times. This one is a bit longer  so more wearable for everyday. I can imagine it will be great in winter too with woolly tights and some chunky boots. It's a good sturdy material so will keep me snug :) In the mean time, it's not too hot for summer besides the fact it's shiny black so attracts the sun like a magnifying glass.

This peplum top from Zara has a great ribbed texture which I think looks great against the tough leather. One thing I will say is that the straps are a bit of a nuisance and fall down on a near constant basis.

Shoes are my trusty Topshop Notion sandals, but around this house I also wore this with my criss cross H&M sandals which look almost identical :)

Until next time!

Love,
Steph

EGYPT / LAST DAYS, CAIRO, THE EGYPTIAN MUSEUM, THE PYRAMIDS & THE SPHINX

Never being a group who would miss the opportunity to sport a fanny packs and hold big maps, we knew that before we left Egypt we would have to visit some of the big tourist attractions.

EGYPT / SNORKELLING & DEATH

On the tuesday we decided to add some spice to our Egyptian getaway by jetting off to swim with some dolphins and snorkel above the reefs.

EGPYT / LAZY DAYS

Afternoon! Or evening/morning. You know the idea.

Contrary to what this blog may suggest, I am by no means a jet setter. That being said, a week after returning from Venice I did then whizz off to Egypt for a week with my family.

When we first arrived it was sunset.

> EGGS (X3) / SUGAR (300G) / FLOUR (300G) / BUTTER (300G) / CLEMENTINES (X3) / ICING SUGAR (100G) / DARK CHOCOLATE (150G)

With the knowledge that I have a fair few more travel posts upcoming, I thought now might be a good time for a brief baking intermission.

VENICE DAY 4 / FINAL DAY IN THE PIAZZA SAN MARCO + CAMPANILE DI SAN MARCO

For our final day in Venice we decided to bite the bullet at last and enter the heart of the tourist hive.

The Piazza San Marco.
